Very similar to a White-rumped Sandpiper. Slimmer than the White-rumped. Baird's Sandpiper has a finely streaked breast-band in all plumages. The White-rumped breast-band is coarser and not as complete in basic plummage. Baird's breast-band is more defined and sharply cut off where it ends. Baird's Sandpiper lack the steaks under the wings of the White-rumped

Baird's Sandpiper is an uncommon migrant though the UTC. Look for it during the end of April and early May. It passes back though in the fall during August and early September
